Why it's time to leave

I got a mail today - hilariously funny, not. Kind of as funny as saying Not at the end of a sentance. Except when Mike Myers did it, then it was pretty good. What? Sorry, drifting, you're right.

Anyway, I got this mail today, called Bullshit Bingo. Kind of like this: http://www.bullshitbingo.net/cards/bullshit/, but with some different words. I open the mail, I read the words, I go "But that is EXACTLY how we speak." I understood - and regularly use - every single word on the list.

Time to move.

God DAMMIT I'm going to miss the Colony Arms, and all of the one hundred perfect proof girls that inhabit it.

Start of the adventure

And so, we start. In truth, this started a long time ago. It started when I realised I was going to spend the rest of my life doing the same stuff, which was vaugely interesting on rare occasions, but ultimately lacked sex appeal.

About three years ago, I should have packed it all in and gone, but I didn't. In retrospect, that wasn't the worst thing, because I got to work at a great company with some pretty cool people in the interim. But at the core, I was always unhappy. So the time has come, the Walrus said, to talk of many things. In Chinese.

This blog is about me moving to China. Right now, on the day of the post, we're 6-7 months away, but there is much planning to be done. I have a house and a car to sell, and possibly one or two more houses to buy (need something to leave my money in). And I have a course to do on teaching English in foreign lands.

So for right now, this is about planning.
